Residents of Ain Sefra in northern Algeria welcomed the sight of snow in the Sahara, the hottest desert in the world. A rare bout of icy weather hit the town, covering parts of the sandy slopes in snow, even though it melts as temperatures rise during the day. Photographer Hamouda Ben Jerad, who filmed footage of people walking around admiring the sights, said the mixture of sand and snow proved a unique photo opportunity. The town of Ain Sefra is known as the gateway to the Sahara desert.

The increase in the carbon dioxide levels has led to spring arriving approximately 11 days earlier than it did back in 1960. And with winter as well, the frost season now seems to come progressively later inside the Northern hemisphere since 1840. Lakes and river average freezing 9 days later and ice cover begin melting 10 days sooner than it used to base on records from 150 years ago. A study from 2003 showed that these changes have led to earlier blooming of plants, bre...
Algerian capital to receive twice its normal April rainfall through Sunday. Residents of Algiers are bracing for flooding as more than double the rainfall the Algerian capital receives during all of April is expected to pour down this weekend. Rainfall of 25-50 mm (1-2 inches) was reported across north-central Algeria through Saturday afternoon. The rain will persist into Sunday, pouring down heavily at times. "The biggest threat for northern Algeria will be flash flooding," AccuWeather Meteorologist Tyler Roys said. Algiers typically records 37 mm (1.45 inches) for the entire month of April. While a surplus of rain is good for the region’s water supply as Algeria is heading into its drier summer months, that amount of rain in a short amount of time can easily trigger flash flooding. ALGERIA waiting you freinds.
The Algerian capital has a rich and multicultural past that is reflected in the city's architecture, food, and fashion.
Algeria Travel Video Guide After a decade of conflict the situation improved slightly, and some access to the southern Sahara region has been possible in the last couple of years. Algeria is one of the most fascinating countries in North Africa.Algeria Travel Video Guide in the dramatic Unesco-listed Tassili N'Ajjer and Hoggar regions, near the town of Tamanrasset, tribal culture is very much alive, and the day-to-day hassle common to many Arab countries is conspicuously absent. Algiers contains a vivid mix of tradition and modernism, its colonial past maintaining a presence. Timimoun embodies the storybook oasis town of the Sahara, and the welcoming town of In Salah is split in two by a creeping sand dune. Algiers Travel - Algiers (Al-Jazaïr) never fails to make an impression. This is a city of rare beauty and of thrilling, disorientating, and sometimes brutal, contrast. The country's turbulent history is writ large in the city's richly textured architecture: wide French-built boulevards and elegant apartments and villas, Socialist-era monuments and public buildings, and an enduring Islamic heart secreted in the steep, hillside Casbah. Labyrinthine streets spill down to the yawning big blue of the Bay of Algiers, sea and sky and green ravines glimpsed at every step. Though people often spend just enough time in Algiers to organise an onward journey, it’s a fascinating place well worth at least a couple of days’ exploration. Enjoy Your Algiers Travel!
